About This Project

Fonterra – Te Awamutu is one of three Fonterra sites in the North Island that uses coal. This work converts the coal boiler to use renewable wood pellets. It is part of the cooperative’s commitment to renewable energy and reducing emissions. The switch from coal to wood pellets will save 84,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year. Stewart & Cavalier is delighted to play a key part in this project. The baghouses have been built to the design specifications of our client, Windsor Engineering. Over the years we’ve done a lot of work for Fonterra, this being one of the largest projects in recent times.
